    Surly 1x1 Retired??

The Surly 1x1 has been moved to the Legacy page on their website........

There is however a mention of a limited edition Pepto Pink color available......

I was hoping for a limited edition retro release identical to the original edition of 19 years ago but such does not appear to be the case.

It is a sad day. They have been sold out at QBP for quite a while now, and before that there was a lonely large green 1x1 hanging in there keeping the part number alive.

I wonder if they will update it? My guess is not for a while. Though with it being the first frame they made I feel like they will do something. . .

if they did a modern remix of the original design, they'd sell. No seat tube brace, curved fork blades, no rim brake mounts. Basically just reissue the 1x1=11 as a frameset.

No seat tube brace, curved non-suspension corrected fork, rim and disc mounts, a way to mount a rear derailleur and a gently sloping top-tube would be hard to resist.

Add drop bars and I sure hope that's what Pack Rat would be

I just noticed this and had to check here to see what's up. Sad day. I'd buy a Pepto pink edition.

That would give it too short a top-tube for me. Maybe they will follow Salsa's Marrakesh lead and make two versions. We can always dream.

Two versions would be cool! it just dawned on me - Rat Ride was anniversary edition and Pack Rat is the new mystery bike

Here's my guess: The 1x1 will reappear sometime this fall having undergone similar redesigns as the other models have in recent years (gnot-boost dropouts, plus-able chainstay yoke, embiggened headtube, etc. And I think there will be a complete bike with their new Sunrise Bars with an overall build that's sort of in the BMX Cruiser/Klunker styling.
    Fat, tired.

That is the most plausible idea I have heard in a long time. People were all about a new clunker frame when the sunrise bars appeared, but I think you've hit the nail on the head.

A beach cruiser 1x1 with fat old tires, the sunrise bars and a fat assed saddle would be a sweet ride, especially with chrome fenders.
