The plus points a Cross Check's FFF rear stays

For the last eight months I have been using a Schwalber Marathon 700x35c rear tyre on my daily commuter, after 6000 miles it was time for a new one. I stayed with Schwalbe but opted for a Marathon XR, a huge 700x45c or 1.75 inch. The difference is immediately noticable, so much smoother the increase in comfort is a real bonus. I never noticed any increase in drag, but when I got to work my watch told the truth, a full five minutes longer.
Still what the hell, just need one for the front now.

And still plenty of room left for a fender.

Funny you should mention that, I have had to order a new pair. The original was too narrow for this tyre, but you are right there is enough room left for a full length mudguard (fender).

So those are about as big as the big apple 2.0s, but they have a little more tread. Cool.

edit: those are probably smaller than the BA 2.0's since the schwalbe seem to run a little smaller than claimed.
