Well finally orderd my parts to build a Pugsley and one of many questions is what type of rim tapes do you use for the Large Marge rims?

i just used some funky light red nylon fabric tape. its ghetto, it works, and its been over a year now. no problems. I keep wondering when someone is gonna try Stans notubes. It seems that some kind of bi-directional packing tape would work.

Surly also sells rim tape to match the width of the LargeMarge.

I run the Marge XC rims and have had issues with the rim tape folding while changing tubes and an exposed rim cut-out has caused a couple of flats. I've used both generations of Surly rim tape without much improvement. Other tapes will leave adhesive on the rim which can be a pain to clean. I was wondering if anyone has found a plastic strip or similar product that won't fold and doesn't really need to be glued in place?

Hockey stick tape from Gart's, Herman's, Sports Authority, whatever store is in your area. It come in different widths. I supposed you could spend the $$ on some made for high tech rim tape.

Awesome! Looks like time to head out to Home Depot and see if they have any cloth or packing tape that I could score. Parts are shipped so now I play the waiting game

The problem with the Large Marge is the pinned joint. Because Stan doesn't make a rubber strip wide enough, you will have to use a little more latex until it fills the gap. The widest strapping tape does help, but I would prefer it welded. I've been running a Large Marge/Gazzalodi 3.0 for three years without a problem.
