That only looks like a truck. Trucks are never unibody.
it says unit-body, not unibody...whats the difference as i have no clue, does look like the avalanche...i certainly won't be buying one, will be out of my price range but i bet it will sell very well..

Go buy a new xterra instead. Due to come out next month. I am waiting on one myself. :D That vehicle is a TRUE truck. No unibody crap.
Xterra Frontier or Sport Trac would all be better choices

Trendy Truck...

sorry, didn't know much about it, maybe they will make a real truck soon....
My wife drives an Odyssey (snappy motor I'l agree) and my ears did perk up when I heard Honda was coming out with a truck. One look at a picture of that thing and I can see I got no use for it. The bed is so short that the tailgait probably has to be down to fit bikes in and I have no use for a 4 door...I was hoping for something more like a Tundra or maybe smaller like a Tacoma/Fronteer size.

I have an 00 Dakota that I'l be replacing later this year. I'l probably get another Dakota as I had good luck with this one and you can get an 05 with a V8....I ain't had one of those since the 70s...I'm due!
:D

This truck, while kind of weird looking is pretty sweet actually. If you need a "TRUCKtruck" for the job site, this is not it, but if you need the utility of a bed, but don't carry super big loads (ie a couple of bikes, and a few tents maybe) this is pretty cool. There is also a trunk in the bed as well. I saw it at the Detroit Auto show, and the way the trunk works is pretty sweet, and very practical, it is beneath the bed of the truck, so you don't sacrifice any space, and they made the tailgate open 2 ways (like a normal tailgate, and like a door) for easy access to the trunk, or for the utility of a tailgate.. All in all, a pretty cool truck. I mean I still want a real truck like the Nissan Titan, but a good try for a new product line from Honda.

mpg

"...all while achieving an estimated EPA mileage rating of 16 city/21 hwy mpg"

hooray! :(

it's 2005, Honda. Time to put your proven hybrid technology into your bigger cars & trucks. Chevy is adding kinda-hybrid tech. to their lg. trucks to at least kill the engine while sitting in the drive-thru. I expect more from them. The mpg on the cool Element also sucks.

i agree, i just bought a new (used) car recently and was apalled at the gas mileage on 4 cylinder vehicles, mainly wagons, like a vw passat getting 20 mpg in the city, thought the element was cool but about the same, blows me away how bad it is...ended up with a subaru outback and its 4 cyl gets only 23 or so...how come gas mileage is worse in newer vehicles? my old honda civic wagon got 35 +, my vw golf (85) got 30-35 and my 94 legacy wagon got near 30...frustrating to say the least...

 I'm sure it is a very nice vehicle....but boy that looks like crap. My better half and I are planning to get a truck in the near future for truck stuff, towing a horse trailer mainly, and her daily driver. She's owned a 95 GMC, and that thing blew ass. I look at the new US trucks and they look like they are still built the same way and cost a friggen fortune.....well GM is having a hard time giving them away. The Titan and Tundra, though a little smaller and down on power on certain US trucks, are looking really good to us. I was excited when I heard that Honda was getting into the market, but this is off the mark. They should have asked Subaru how many Baja's they sold. billybob, your Suby and the Passat probably have double the HP of your old Vdub and Civic. More power less milage.

For more info, see:

Actually, the body is a hybrid. A unibody cab welded to a highly modified ladder underframe. There is a pic of it off the link above. Personally, I'll withhold judgement on looks until I see it in person . . . pics seldom do justice to vehicles. Regardless of looks, I think it would be an awesome shuttle vehicle (4-5 bikes in box, 4-5 riders in cab, gear in "trunk"). Not to mention, Honda will probably sell every one of them it can produce. Honda does its homework and seldom screws up.
