MTH 746 rear hub Wobbling cassette

Got this rear hub on my new bike and when spinning the cassette, the largest sprocket is wobbling ~2 mm side to side. There is no play and I've taken it off and reassembled it with no difference. It's not the cassette itself, because I can see the whole thing going sideways, but of course it's most noticeable on the largest sprocket. Shifting still works, but it's not as good as should be.

Does anyone know what could be causing the wobble? Don't want to send it away for warranty repair and be without my bike at the best part of season! I mean it still works, but this is not OK on a brand new hub.

check the chrome end cap on the axle. my buddy's backed off, allowing for slop/play in the freehub itself
I like 'em long, low, slack and playful

Thanks! I don't think that's the problem, because the bearings are overtightened if anything. I have a new Hope pro 4 hub that I could use, but... Would be nice fixing the current one first.
