    I'm a Shimano convert..

Okay guys couple of questions before I "convert"..

I've got Shimano XT now and was going to go to this:
    Sram X0 shifters
    Sram X9 rear der

    My questions are:
What front der do I use?
    What cassette do I use?
    What crankset do i use?
    What chain do I use?

Thanks for your feedback.. I'm totally lost on this, but rode a friends the other day and it was so dailed vs. my XT it was crazy..

Could you maybe be more specific about what you have, and what you don't like about it?

    Are the chain/cassette/crankset worn out?

    Here's the deal..

I'm wondering if the shifter is worn out, it just isn't as smooth as it used to be, or maybe it was never as crisp as the SRAM.. Everything is full XT.. Also, the SRAM is lighter, so that would be kinda a bonus...

Can I run my existing front der. and crankset? If so, that would be a HUGE bonus.. IE: less cash to dole out!

    Ooops..

did see the answer to the other questions.. So the really, all I need is the shifters and rear der.? That would be SWEET!

Yes, that is correct. You can switch to a Sram shifter and rear derailleur, while keeping all of the other XT components.

Yes, that is indeed all you need.
    Build.
    Ride.
    Repeat.

Sram sh!ts on Shimano, for drivetrain anyway. Go all X.O or all X.9, don't mix them, that's whack.
