    Double time hubs

It beggars belief that someone green lit a three part hub that was glued together. These are beyond crap. The bearings are just as bad, cheapest nasty Chinese junk. Whoever though a 23mm ID, 32mm OD single row ball bearing in the front hub was a smart move should go back to flipping burgers.

Here's the promotional cutaway image of a double time hub. Look closely and you can see the three parts to the hub shell.

I can see it. Is the outer normally machined as a one piece?

Yep, machined as one piece for structural integrity by almost every other hub manufacturer in the world. A few high end carbon road bike hubs are bonded carbon to aluminium spoke flanges but that's for high end time trial purposes only.

Well, in their defense, they saved 2 dollars in material and 3 minutes in machining time.

Take a look at tons of mavic hubs, all bonded together. I hate their stuff but i've never seen a hub come apart. Flanges crack sure, but never a de bonded hub.

I can't comment on the exact hub you posted, but I built up some cx wheels with some S900 hubs to some "reclaimed" carbon rims. The bearings roll so fast, I used them all CX season and haven't touched them at all. They are one of the better hubs I've used.
