    Avid XX 185mm hydraulic brakes

On both the front and rear rotors SRAM provides a warning stating that these brakes are meant for XC/Trail riding and are not intended for use in DH/All Mountain riding. Anyone have a logical explanation? My logic says a bigger rotor, better stopping power, meant for high speeds a la DH/AM...which obviously leads to my confusion.

    Thanks for the help

I'm guessing it's either the fact that you have to use organic pads with this system or the system's inability to shed heat. I have a set with 160mm rotors and they're plenty powerful for the typical XC riding I do. Not the most powerful brakes I've ever used but I don't fear for the ability to control my bike. I don't ride DH but I'm pretty sure if I did, the XX brakes would not be my first choice.
