    2011 xo and xx availability

Anyone know when the 2011 x0 and xx will be available? SRAM mentioned august in their press docs but no specific date. I've been looking round in the usual places but no 2011 products to be found on the web yet. I am keen to convert my 1x9 to a 1x10 and want to compare the prices of the two options.

    Cheers

Looking like it will be about the middle of the month, so shops should start getting this stuff in shortly after that.

    happy trails...

300 for the Shifters and the rear derailers are 285 for the X.O and 360 for the X.X. The front derailer is 85 for X.0 and and 140 for the X.X.

Are there any differences between XX 2010 and 2011 besides the lighter XX WC Brakes?

No, I believe the XX WC brakes are lighter because the adjustability has gone, the standard XX brake remains the same as does the rest of the gruppo.

EDIT: Actually, I think there will be a minor change, you can have colour co-ordinated cables based on the available XO colours but I've only seen that as a media rumour.

Just seen some UK prices on the X0 stuff and they seem high to me £189.99 Rear Derailleur £192.99 Shifters, hope this is not the true price or I am going to stay with my 9speed stuff.

The x9 10-speed shifters and derailleurs are literally only a few grams heavier than the x0 stuff for a lot less money. The big weight differences are in the cassettes and cranks.

Will post pics if I ever get my frame. Got the black/black XO looks stealthy. Bike will be mostly black with some blue bits thrown in.

Thats a good question. Apparently it does exist because I saw pics of it on bikeradar months ago but its mysteriously missing from the sram site. No vendors have it listed yet either. I wonder if they're having some problem manufacturing it.

I'm not ordering my shifter and derailleur until this cassette is available, Its the key piece.

Nice write up, Bart! Did you go with a long or medium cage for your RD? Their website shows "medium for 2 X 10" but the cage capacity doesn't add up for medium.

I have the medium cage with the 36 tooth cassette and it shifts like a dream!
