11 speed shifter with 7 speed derailluer
Hey guys. Last week i ordered a gx 7speed derailluer with 11 speed gx shifter, beacuse the site did not have the 7 speed shifter.
Got it today and could not get it to work perfect, it does shift kind of good but i was thinking if the 11 speed shifter and 7 speed shifter had different ratios in wire pull...

I have a noname cassette right now, so the thing is, Should i buy the Pg720 cassette and the pc1130 chain, before trying a new shifter? Or can it be the both?

Not going to happen, you are wasting your time and $$, cable pull is way different between those 2. If you had 11spd and 10spd I think there are some adapters to make it work, but not 7 and 11 spd.

Buy stuff made to work together. Of course your stuff doesn't work right. You have a downhill derailleur on an 11spd shifter and hacked it together on some random cassette? Yes, put on the pg 720 made to work with the drivetrain, and track down the correct shifter. Don't forget to use the right chain, too.

Actually all the gx shifters have the same pull ratio. So it will work, got it confirmed yesterday.

The only difference then is the amount of clicks, wich you regulate with the wire tension in the rear derailluer.

Like i said to lynx, the gx shifters have the same pull ratio. So a new cassette will do.
