10 Speed Rear Derailleur compatibility with 10-42 Cassette

Looking through SRAM's MTB site I can't see any of the 10 Speed RD's that are compatible with a 42T cassette, they either top out at 36T or don't say (X9).

Surely they have one that works (compatible) with a 10-42, anybody know?

All SRAM 10 Speed medium and long-cage derailleurs will work with a 42T cassette just fine. The reason they don't say it's compatible is SRAM never made a 42T cassette for 10 Speed, only 11. I assume you're looking at either the Sunrace 10 Speed 42T cassette or one of the add-on 42T cogs?

Thanks very much, picking up a Marin PM1 and was trying to work out if i should upgrade the RD off the bat or leave it alone. Comes with a 10-42 Sunrace

The Sunrace cassettes are 11-42, not 10-42.

Now Shimano has only one 10 speed rear deraulier for 11-42 cassetes, that work's gret without extreme long B-screw. It's RD-M6000 GS Shadow+ https://bike.shimano.com/en-EU/produ...-M6000-GS.html

And why only this one works great? Because it has top pulley with axe ofsett so chain better copying cassette sprockets profile from 11T to 42T. All other Shimano derauliers did'n work so great as RD-M6000.
