I have a 5ish year old trek 820. Needless to say, my front fork is totally blown, crank is dieing, rear wheel is just recently bent etc etc. I have taken pretty good care of it, but I need something new. I do some drops, prob 3 ft max to flat landing, more if I'm landing to tranny. I do a little dj, but mostly around town riding. I also do some trails. So a mix of everything basically.
What would you guys recomend?
How would a new 03 specialized hardrock pro for $450 sound? My bike shop has a 17inch frame and a 19inch frame from last year. I havent seen them yet or test rode them. I'm coming from a 18inch frame. My friend just got a 19.5inch trek 4300 which I think is too big.

I just went on specialized website and compared the 03 to the 04 hardrock pro. These are the differences I found.

Fork RockShox Judy TT, 100mm travel, preload adj., steel steerer, elastomer/coil spring

stem, 15 degree rise

disc brakes shimano 515 6"

Crankset TruVativ X-Forge, forged alloy, capless bolts

Pedals Dual sided, composite body, steel cage, clip compatible

Fork Marzocchi MZ Comp, 100mm travel, preload adjust, steel steerer, elastomer/coil spring

stem 10 degree rise

disc brakes shimano 474 6"

Crankset Truvativ 5-D, alloy, capless bolts

Pedals 9/16" alloy platform w/ Cr-Mo spindle

Are those differences worth 150bucks?
Should I get a different bike for 450-600bucks?
