Ugh...you've got to be kidding me! That's the worst possible weekend for me! Was sooo looking forward to this race too! Had a blast at the Rock Crusher last season and was really excited about the 50. Ugh....

Its like race promoters have grabbed my wife's callendar and picked every weekend we're booked to schedule races on. This is the literally the 5th race I'll have to miss this season.

    Sorry to hear that!
We're not hosting the RockCrusher this year, concentrating everything on the SOHN 50.
Hopefully you can make it to the 3rd annual SOHN.

I know what you mean, that date is my 25th wedding anniversary. I have an understanding wife though, so we will celebrate our 25th the next weekend, so Iíll be getting my hard nox in on the 4th

A very understanding wife indeed! What did she say last year when we were heading down the day before to pre-ride on your anniversary, "You better pedal and bring home some hardware" or something similar to that .

If I can ever get a chance to ride/train at all this year, I am planning on doing this race again. Look forward to it, Good race!

This is cool that this is right here near me (figuritively speaking as I am in new orleans) but I do not think i would be able to survive a 50 mile race. Maybe next year. Good luck to all the participants.

Looks awesome and the way summer in the Deep South is starting out could be a Hot event.

Anyone got any suggestions on a ss gear to use for this? I live in Bham and am currently using a 32/17 on a 29er riding Oak Mountain and what not around here.

That should be a good gear for it, I raced it last year and it was 1700' of climbing per 25 mile lap, nothing really steep or long, just nice flowing trails

I'm planning on at least doing the first lap, we'll see how my legs feel after that. What's the scoop on camping at the lake? Think I'll be able to set the pop up up?

Great race, just a trace of rain in the middle of a tropical storm, the trails were fantastic the last half of the race. I'll be back for sure!

Good riding with you, I was the 50 year old that played tag with you all day, then we finished together
