    Haha Thanks. It's pretty flat around here for the most part. But hey!, we can ride in beautiful weather year round! ;

    Life is easy. Figure out the price of whatever it is you want, then pay that price.

    Cool vid.

    Central Florida Trail Rating System

    Green = bunny rabbits and deer
    Blue = armadillos and opossum
    Single Black Diamond = bobcats and rabid raccoons
    Double Black Diamond = den of vipers
    Pro Line = mandatory gap jumps over moat filled with alligators
    No dig no whine

    I'll be in Orlando for some training from the 22-1 and am bringing my bike along as I will have a free weekend while there. Looking to ride some in the afternoons as well. Thanks for sharing!

    Fantastic! Where are you visiting from? Be sure to check out the Markham Woods group on Facebook for details on our weekly Wednesday night ride there. It's a great little trail about 20 minutes north of downtown Orlando with some great people attending, one of the best weekly MTB rides in the area for sure. We've been getting upwards of 45-50 riders attending weekly since the beginning of the year.

    Here are a couple of previews:
    (of course we have several other great trails in the area that are various distances from town as well...)

    Iím always impressed with how fun Florida riders make their trails with so little elevation change. Iíve ridden a few systems around the Palm Beach area, and theyíre seriously fun with surprising amounts of tech, flow and opportunities to jump.

    I'll be coming in from the Birmingham, AL area. I will have a Wednesday there so I will try and make that for sure, never seen that many people for a social ride. I will be staying off of Ivanhoe Blvd if any trails are close to that area specifically. I don't mind driving a little for a good ride though.

    Yup. We have little to almost no elevation across Florida but don't let that fool you. We have some really fun (and often quite challenging) trails nonetheless!

    Cool. Looks like you'll be staying right in the downtown area. Your closest trail is going to be at the Orlando Mountain Bike Park which is about 10 minutes to the east. This trail is really short (only about 1 mile long) and a bit technical. It's great if you're short on time and all you want is a quick off-road ride for just a few minutes out of your day.

    All of the other [longer] local area trails are going to be 20-30 minutes drive from downtown to the east & north. I would say that the Markham Woods trail (as mentioned before) would probably be your best bet in terms of trail length, fun factor, and length of time/distance to get there. Followed by the Snow Hill Road trail at the Econ State Forest.

    We also have a number of other great trail systems in Central Florida (some of which you can ride for 30-40+ miles on singletrack and never do the same trail twice), but each of these is going to be at least 60-90 minutes drive from the downtown Orlando area, in either direction.

    My name is John and I'm usually at the weekly Wed. night ride at Markham woods (as long as it's not raining). Hope to see you there!

    Hope to meet you next Wednesday John. I got my actual reservation information today and I will actually be staying at a Homewood Suites in Maitland, FL. Maybe that will put me closer to longer trails.

    I also have a friend who mentioned Santos as a weekend option. I'm not opposed to driving a bit to ride since I won't really have anything else to do on the weekend.

    I made it out to the Wednesday night ride last night and it seemed to be a good turnout. John I believe they appointed you to lead the B+ ride, although we didn't actually meet. I had a good time and met several people and was invited to a night ride in town tonight from Kyle's. I also realized that what you all lack in elevation you make up for with the flat sandy stuff. I don't recall having to pedal so much in a long time, I'm used to being rewarded for my pedaling but here if you stop pedaling you stop moving forward.

    Well sorry we didn't cross paths (or is that trails?), but glad you were able to make it out! It's a fun ride for sure. We definitely come up short in elevation but big in nearly every other aspect!

    You guys have lots of various and fun spots around here. Friday I went up to Mt Dora and it was quite fun and nice to have the skill area to practice on the wooden features, made the rest of the weekend easier/more fun. Saturday I went over and did Alafia for a few hours and had an absolute blast. Sunday I went up the road to Santos and got in a few more hours, there was some pretty neat stuff but lots of things were not open and appeared overgrown.
