Mountain Bike Gathering - Raccoon Mtn - Chattanooga, TN

The mountain bike gathering will officially start at 9 am, Saturday, September 6th, in the Laurel Point area on Raccoon Mountain and feature....

    Group Rides

    Lunch/Cookout

    Clinics
Bike Raffle for a Cannondale F4 Mountain Bike, MSRP $950.
(tickets sold on site and drawing will take place that day)

Grand Opening of the new Free Ride trail

Grand Opening of a new Beginner trail

Unveiling of the new trail signs

There is no cost to attend any of these events, (there will be a donation jar to help cover the costs of the food).

Map to the events. To get to the Laurel Point area on Raccoon Mountain, click the link. From the star, proceed up the mountain until TVA Road "T's" into another road. Turn right and drive around the top of the mountain. After you drive over the dam, turn right into the Laurel Point area (look for the sign) and proceed until you see the base ball diamond and picnic area.

For more information check out the SORBA-Chattanooga website.

Why not spread the word on events like this a little sooner? Sounds like something we would have liked to attend.
Yeah, I know (now) it's on the SORBA website, but not everyong gets over there regularly.
    Just sayin...

The new trail signs are excellent. Great job.

Any chance on updated maps coming out soon?

I've got the summer 2007 map (which is newer than the one on the Sorba site). Is there a 2008 version floating around out there somewhere?

Everything still planned to start on time? It's been raining on and off all day here in Huntsville.
