There's trail, I dunno if its worth doing... never road them.

There's some trail at Chewalca, and I think some on Tuscegee Nat'l Forest.

I think they just built some in Columbus, GA by one of the Army bases?

Quick search brought me to this page....

I believe Bartram is supposed to be decent.

pleasant hill trail. go south down college street leaving auburn, cross I-85. go about 5 miles past then turn right on 186. go about two miles. there'll be a ranger station sign on the right. go past it. should be your next left. dirt road. small parrking lot. trail head is next to the trail sign. you should see the map there. it's 8 miles. lots of fun. run it four miles one way. turn around. should take you about 45 minutes at an intermediate pace. less if you're trying to haul ass.

i ride it once a week maybe on a rigid SS 29er. 36-20 gearing is perfect for me out there. it's fast with lots of rolling hills. a fun course.

i hit the bartram/pleasant hills trail on saturday. it was a good workout but the trail needs some attention. lots of downed trees and overgrowth. it was a cool trail though. kinda old school. i ended up with 17.5 miles in 2 hours. it was hot. with some work that trail could be sweet.

I am not a local. I occasionally visit Auburn and ride the Pleasant Hill/Bartram system when I am there. The trails are fun but getting kind of beat up. The sand washes in the bottoms of pleasant hill are taking some of the speed element out of things. There is some blow down on both trails as well as vegetation encroachment. Minor work could be done and those trails could be real gems. I have met a few individuals while riding out there who say they try to do trail work on their own. Are there any local organizations with contacts at USFS? A couple of coordinated work days could probably knock out the vast majority of the problems and show the rangers that there is interest in the trails. Not ranting...just my 2 cents.

Rode the Bartram trail today starting at the Ranger Station entrance. Disappointed in the up keep of the trail, it could be a fun ride. We had to stop several times for downed trees over the trail plus lots of over growth means if you ride this trail you are gonna have a bad time. Pleasant Hill is recomended, lots of sweet jumps. The dudes at the Ranger station need to step their game up though seriously, the first down tree was like 200 yards from the station. Who can we contact about this?

I'm gonna go fix Pleasant hill trail Thursday if nobody beats me to it, it's a fun ride with a few small jumps to spice things up.
