*STOLEN BIKE ALERT* Sobe-edition Cannondale stolen in Brandon

My g/f and I stopped for dinner at the Outback Steakhouse in Brandon, on west Brandon BLVD not far off I75. We stopped around 10PM (maybe just a bit earlier) and left around 10:30, at which time we noticed that one of the bikes on the back of my car had been stolen.

My 2004 Cannondale F600 with Team SOBE paint scheme:

I have made some changes from stock:
    WTB Speed V saddle
Shimano XT dual-control shifters with hydraulic brakes
    Yellow Welgo MG1 flat pedals
WTB Weirwolf tires (with the rear mounted backwards)

Please PM me with any information regarding the whereabouts of this bike

I'm offering $100 for information leading to the return of this bike, and doubling the reward for information that leads to the arrest of the thief as well!

That sucks man but the uniqueness of the frame should make it easy to find if the a-hole does try to sell it. You can get an automated daily search on ebay sent to your email and most newspapers have their classifieds online. The only real pain is calling all pawn shops in the area but again the uniqueness of the frame makes it easy to describe.
    Good luck!

Send a message out to all the pawn shops in the area and let the police know as well. The police will also contact the pawn shops (That's how they found my BetaSP Video Deck and in turn my editing system, eventually). Those *******s don't even know the value of what they are stealing for the most part.

I think its time to invest into a locking system.

Whats even worse, some legit guy may buy the bike from the a$$wipe and think its his just to be busted later for riding a stolen rig.

Sucks! I had a bike stolen at Alafia SP in 2005 (at a race, no less!) I think you have a better chance of winning the lotto than finding it, not trying to be negative just realistic...

What I learned from that experience was to NEVER, under any circumstance, leave my bikes unlocked or unattended...

Good luck, maybe you're one of those one in a million cases and will get it back...

I check craigs list every day and go riding usually twice a week. I'll keep my eyes on it. I won't call the cops, I'll follow the guy until I get a tag number and give you that info. What form of justice you believe in can follow

There is one guy who rides Alafia that has the same bike/paint as me. However, his is stock where mine has WTB Weirwolf tires, dual-control shifters, and yellow Welgo MG1 flat pedals.
    Please don't stalk that guy.

Dave- thanks for the support, I can see we're on the same wavelength.

I'll keep an eye out (I live in the area).

FYI...there is a pawn shop just off of Hwy 60 near Parsons (in front of Shells) that may be worth checking out. I've seen a Cannondale or two out in front of that shop in the past. Seems they have purchased higher end bikes in the past so it may be worth a look.

Thanks for the heads-up. I've been passing out / taping up flyers in the area.

Someone who works at the Subway next to Outback said they saw a hispanic male between 20 and 30 riding it at 4PM Wednesday (5/28). He was dressed in black pants, black shirt, and wearing a black apron. When he noticed that someone was watching him (very intently), he took off across SR60 without waiting for the light to change.

Damned shame he didn't get run over

Sounds like its time to start walking into some kitchens to see whose uniforms are all black. Maybe the guy works right there at Outback and he got off work and yanked your bike on his way out.

Theres an idea, just cruise the alleys to see if you can yank it back. Or at least wait for the guy to leave.

I have flyers up at Outback, at least where the staff can see them. Also, they cater to police quite heavily and I've given a few flyers to the police entering that establishment.

Neither the managers at Tres Amigos nor Chilis admits to having seen the bike, either.

When you find the guy, don't confront him, let us know, maybe we can get together for a whoop down.
