    XTR crank mod

Getting ready to hack up my 960 crankset for my SS juice project. I've read some of the threads and feel okay about chopping off the outer tabs.
    Any other tips or tricks?
Im going to polish them up too. Ideas on a clear over the polished aluminum?

Its just a lot of elbow grease to get a really good finish. I went thru grades of paper until finishing with 2000 grit and then polishing compound.

I didn't bother with clearcoat of any kind. When they dulled it was another rub down with polishing compound and they came up pretty good.

Sounds good. I used a wire wheel to scuff the anodizing off--they are just a dull brushed look right now--figure I can slowly polish them though.
    Those look good!

Thanks.. getting the mirror finish took work but IMO totally worth it for the satisfaction.
