    The woods fight back!

Had a bit of a run in with a tree last week. Damn thing jumped right out in front of me when going around a turn. I was like WTF! You would have thought he saw me coming and yeilded me the right of way.

Seriously, I just come down a hill and was pretty much booking going into a little Left/right/left section. I caught a root that sort of knocked the bike out from under me causing me to shift my weight and BAM! Dead stop! My teeth slammed together so hard, I saw stars and probably scared squirels for miles! I got the wind knocked out of me and had tears in my eyes instantly. But I never crashed (I mean fell to the ground or anything like that). I actually sort of paused there, not leaning on the tree or anything and simply stepped out of my pedals, leaned the bike against the tree and started a search for blood or anything fractured.

The scrapes you see are all capillar bleeding from a direct impact. I repeat, I did not brush past the tree. Just slammed my side right into it.

Hopefully the picture shows up with this. Problems with photo file conversion. The attached doc file is the photo.

Unfortunately not. My girlfriend on the other hand....(Just kidding, I have way to many women in my life already living with me for me to even waste my time thinking about finding another! 3 daughters and a wife is enough)

According to umarth your wife can get pretty rowdy.

    P.S. I don't see a photo, just a .doc file, which I didn't even try to open.

The doc file is the photo. Something going on with the way my Mac is sending it to me at work via email (wife emailed me the photo).

I know right. I need to inform him that it is a package deal. If your going to take one of them you have to take them all.

Been there done that. I'm a tree hugger in more ways than one. Last Sunday trying to keep up with some faster guys, caught an 8 inch oak at about 10 mph and it brought me to an immediate complete stop. I'm taking the chain saw next time!

That looks like you were attacked by a stack of curling iron and a round brush. I also vote abusive spouse.
