    Winning expert race on SS!

Tooting my horn here. I sanded, grinded and painted this bike on Monday. Tuesday I built it and did a 7 mile shakedown run on the street since the trails were wet.
Wednesday I rode to our local mtb races in hopes of starting the SS category at 6:00 PM. I arrived at 6:03 lol.
Signed up for the expert race, hoping to maybe get a top 5. I managed to WIN against a strong field!

    SS IS THE BEST!
Setup is an wolf tooth 36 oval and a 17tooth out back. On rotten old Racing ralphs.
Jamis Exile with rust holes in the frame!
    Pure poor mans setup!

Way to go. I see one of the spectators was so impressed that she stuck a $1 bill in your shorts while you were on the podium. Well done, my friend.

Well done, just goes to show you it isn't the bike...
(not that your Jamis isn't a nice bike, you just don't need all the new toys to compete)

    This was the open/expert/pro category I won. : )
Yes not always the gear. Legs and skillz go a long way.

    Ringer/sandbagger LOL

    Congratulations!

In a 100 mi race (of 3x33 mi loops) once, the eventual winner lapped me at the end of my 1st. He crushed the entire field including geared riders. Lucky I'm not in my 20's too or I would have felt bad hahaha
