Good story, but I'm seeing a double, der. and cassette? Title should read "Aydin Irmak knows his goal- to carry his beloved massive dinglespeed to the summit-"

    in short.....crazy guy is crazy

I have also heard that so many people have done everest that they have left a lot of trash and junk left behind and it's starting to become a big problem. Hopefully this fly by night guy doesn't leave his bike at the summit or whatever.

The bike wouldn't be so bad considering that there is a number of bodies left on the mountain due to the difficulties of removing them.

I wish him the best of luck, sounds like he could use it!

Watched a video of bodies on Everest on youtube. Just nuts to see.

They found George Mallory's body just recently. Out in the open and quite well preserved...

His Everest bit sounds dumb, but his trek to get there is amazing. I'd love to just bike through a billion different countries to see the world.

    It's over

He made it to the top without the bike and almost died on the way down. He was carried part way down. Wonder where the bike is. May still be on the mountain.
Suicide by single speed. Work in progress.

Man, it's hard enough on two feet - is it just me, but rather than thinking he is a "bad ass", I just think the whole thing sounds fricking retarded?
