Whose converted older Treks to SS?

I have an older Trek 520, and trying to get the largest tire in I can get...

I have seen a couple on the boards before, and am curious what is the largest tire size you guys have fit in it?

Thinking of going with the IRC Mythos 42s, but want to make sure...

    Any suggestions?

    THANKS!~

Not familiar with a Trek 520, but here's my 1991 Trek 950. With 26" wheels, my chubby Kenda K-Rad 2.3 tires fit with ample room. Bet 2.5s can fit. With 700c wheels, my Kenda Kross Supreme 700x35c tires will fit in the rear but not the front. Biggest I can score in the front is a WTB Cross Wolf 700x32c, and even that's with running slightly lower pressure to avoid rub with the brake arch.

My wife runs GEAX2.3 blades and sedonas on her trek 980 (i think) fit with a little extra room. These are huge tires, as big as my specialized roller pro 2.3 DH tires only weigh much less and rock it like a scalded monkey in the desert.

Depending on how old this 520 is, the blades may definitely not fit as they run HUGE compared to most manufacturers. I have a 1991 Trek 8700 myself, and the very largest tire I was able to fit is a WTB Mutano Raptor 2.4, definitely cannot take a blade.

    I guess I should clarify...

The 520 (420,620&720)... are touring frames...

and, I have converted it to a singlespeed crosser.
