White Industries Freewheel tear down - Ernesto?

Ernesto - didn't you post a step-by-step on the maintenance of a WI freewheel? I think it's time to crack it open for a peak. I looked on the WI site but couldn't find it. Can you link me up?

    It is not very complicated.
Use a Park red pin spanner to remove the lock ring (lefthand threads).

    Gently lift it apart.

Note the placement of the o-ring and seals.

Now you can repack the cartridge bearing if needed.

Clean out any crud in the ratchet/pawls (should be very little).

    Inspect the pawls and springs.

Use oil (never grease) on the pawls and ratchet.

    Reassemble.

Easier than repacking a cup and cone hub!

    Thanks.

Should you leave the freewheel on the hub to make removing the lockring easier?

    yep,

to get it loose. then remove the freewheel from the hub and finish removing the ring thing. you can take the fw off all the way before messing with the red/green ring but its easier to loosen when its still on the hub.
