    Where is that darn spring

Okay, this is OT but it still happens to singlespeeders. I was cleaning up an old derailleur, when I took off the adjuster barrel the spring shot out somewhere in my living room. I have been looking for the darn thing all afternoon with no success. Ever lost a bike part that took days or weeks to find? (I have)

Yep, I used to live in a 2nd floor apt and the outside patio was my workshop. I dropped a a frustrating number of bolts and small parts that rolled off the edge and were lost in the deep mulch on the ground. I found some, but many were never seen again. The slight slope of the patio was great for shedding rain, terrible for losing parts
