    Wheel and tire help

I am in the process of converting my MTB to a single speed commuter bike. I ordered a set of Vuelta Zerolites MTB wheelset from Nashbar but when I got them, they were really narrow.

My question now is, can I mount my Kenda Kwest tires (26X1.9) on them and what tube size should I use (wheel is drilled for a presta valve)?

    Wheel Specs

•26mm medium-V rim with CNC-machined sidewalls for better stopping power
•2.8mm black stainless steel spokes, 24 front/24 rear, 3-cross lacing

    WEIGHT: Front 998g Rear 1140g = Pair 2138g
    SPACING: 135mm
SPOKES: 2.8mm Black stainless steel spokes
    SPOKE COUNT: 24 front/ 24 Rear
LACING PATTERN: 3X Front & Rear
    SKEWERS INCLUDED: yes
    DISC COMPATIBLE: No
    ACCESSORIES INCLUDED: QR Skewers

26mm is pretty wide for a rim, mine are 23mm and i run a 2.1-2.3" with no problems. Assuming the rims are 26", you shouldn't have any problems. Any 26" presta inner tube should work fine, but they do have sizing ranges on the box, typically.

Granted I may be pushing the envelope, but I am running Richey wire Tom Slick 1.0 tires on Rhyno lites on my tandem. The tires are about as wide as the rims (27.5), but I have had no problems after about 700 miles. That said I will probably replace them with the 1.4 next time to slow down the front end, which wonders a bit more with the narrower tire.
Just one more rep and I get the toaster!
