Cool-blue Rhythm Wheel Pron (Hahaha) Post Your Tight Wheels

It was like Christmas today. I finally got the two wheel sets i have been waiting on. Check them out. I have already taken the stickers off the track wheels it makes them look soooo much better. Plus it will match the bike; which i will post as soon as it gets to me. If any of you remember the thread about brake adaptors, I was able to get the Center Lock Adaptors from DT. Wow, was that the way to go. It works like a charm. I just hope they work on the trail. As soon as i get my Sycip back from Spectrum and built i will post it too.
    Later Days,
    Nicholas

Larry and Sean at Mountain High Cyclery hooked me up with these wheels. Not only did they give me a great deal, they were VERY helpful and went above and beyond the level of customer service that I expect (and I expect a lot). Top-notch, hi-class guys all around. Anyway, Hadley SS hubs with 108pt engagement laced to DT4.1disc wheels. Amazing how quickly the freewheel engages. Enjoy...

<In Paris Hilton Voice> Damn, Thats Hot!!! <My Voice> I wish i could see those wheels in person. I have never heard of such a lace. Way, cool. Also VoltesV those Hadley Hus are effin tight. I wish i would have known that they existed. I like Hadley hubs alot. Ohh, and your bike is <Nor Cal Voice> Hella Rad. You all have great wheels, well except for the one with the stick no no LOG through it. Later Days, Nicholas

    hmmm. that's actually kinda interesting.

what rims did you find blah and why? which rims would you use instead and, also, why?

not trying to be an ass, just honestly curious.

as for the wheels, very sexy. that hybrid radial lace looks pretty wild.

Lets see.... Mavic rims are lame. So overplayed. Watch out for cracks around the spoke holes. Alex rims Ha Ha Ha. I think I saw some DT rims those are cool with me. It shows me that the rider likes a quality product but does not want to buy in to the hype of those other Frenchie rims. The first guy had some Mavic track wheels those are cool. Open Pros are cool too cause there is not much else that compares. My choice is the Sun UFO. 350 grams of 28 hole love. My rear rim is a 517 i got for free. That is until my Bontrager race-X-lite warrenty (sp) rim arrives.

Phil Wood hubs are sick. ENO is sweet. I love my 1998 Dt Hugi hub. So loud and obnoxous. Hadley is sick too. Not as light as Chrissy King but I hate CK. So there.

Naw, Mavic rims are the only way to go. I to thought the DT Swiss rims looked nice so i put some on my ss. They broke at the valve steem hole during the Sea Otter. The wheel was sooo out of true, but I did not notice till after the race. I went to push the bike and the rear wheel skid. Thats got to be one of the smoothest trails around. Sure i was racing but still. Mavic rules the rim world. Velocity's are nice too but very heavy, but at least they are cheep. N.

Velocity is a joke. I have only laced up the DT road rims for a track bike. 36 holes. No experience with the mountain rims cause they are too heavy. The D321 was a good rim but it got cancelled. I will always dislike Mavics and CK.

See when you said Tight Wheels. To me Tight= Fresh = new and or not common. The thread should have been titled "Post your Hyped hubs laced to generic rims"

yep- 1 gold nipple on either side of the valve stem. its a trademark of the wheelbuilder/LBS. but he usually runs pink, if you dont specify.

gold will match the hope mono's, orange matches the bike and the mango headset.

Hey SlowSSer, is Tani building your wheels? I had almost the same exact setup in mind, although I'm really looking for Root Beer colored CK hubs. Did they even make hubs in root beer? I know they did headsets.

i believe so. if they make the color for the headsets, you'd think they'd do it for the hubs.

A Tennessee boy with SoCal Wheels.
The Path built these for me about 3 years ago, I trued them for the first time last week. King hubs, black spkes that are skinny in the middle, and rims from down under.
These wheels have seen it all and usualy at high speeds under my 190 lb. girth

Great Wheels... I love the flanges on the WI Front Hub. I wish they would do that with their back hub. Is there a reason they don't?
