I've heard that carbon are laterally stiff when climbing but will eat up some small vibrations.......can anyone confirm this?

Cannot confirm for Carbon, but I do know with good butting on an aluminum bar, it makes a big difference. I really noticed that early this year when I put on a Salsa ProMoto bar.

Just started riding the Pro Moto with 11 degrees sweep on my rigid 29er and it has been great. Comfortable hand position, and it has felt very stiff (keep in mind I am only 138 lbs). Soaking up small bump vibrations has been pretty good, but I also have a carbon fork which helps.

the Syntace looks good, who carries them? I need to find one......

I have the Salsa ProMoto 11deg aluminum bar on there right now --the 25.4mm version and it is crazy flexy, so I'm upping it to 31.8 but want to try carbon

Be careful, this bar has some serious sweep IIRC that may feel weird. Definitely try to find one to feel before you buy it.

    Syntace Vector Carbon
They are 680mm wide, have a 12d sweep and 10mm rise.
They aren't totall flat but they are close, they even look flat...ish.
I have a set on the Moots SS. Each time someone tries the bike they first remark about the bars.

Syntace has a couple different bar options that are all awesome.

Any shop that deals direct with Magura can get you the best options (they come over in small batches and are sometimes hard to track down).
