    Waltworks SS weekend project

Got a Waltworks frame from a friend who got it from someone who bought the frame from said friend's friend.

Friend is trying for a F/S Stache so he was unloading some stuff to come up with the moolah.

    Sweet! And it's Purple, Bonus!

Be nice to your new frame and clamp the seatpost from now on.

Ah, I see the collar is missing now. I'm thinking "why clamp the frame when the seatpost is right there?"

    I love the segmented fork!!

    Nice.

I've got a ~10 year old Walt frame & fork that are still going strong.

good pickup... just needs a Prince sticker

As a paint saver, put a cloth between the frame and clamp until you get the collar for the post.
I don't know why,... it's just MUSS easier to pedal than the other ones.

It was repainted from a light blue to this blue/purple paint. Looks blue or purple depending on angle. Pretty neat.

Wait... someone sold a WaltWorks frame to get a Trek Stache? I feel like I am taking crazy pills.

Walt has said previously that he can't believe he made all those frames with clearance for 26x2.2 tires. However, I agree with you and I can't believe it either. If the person had sold to fund an Ultimate Warrior that would make more sense.

It's just one of those things...he didn't even get the chance to put it together. He already has a KM SS.

Still waiting on the Hope clamp, it just got out of customs.

You can kind of see the original blue where the clamp would go.

That's really special. M960 cranks would look good on this one I think.

I thought about it for a hot minute but decided it was a lot easier to find a XT crankset with 104 BCD. It is still a tempting thought though.

Thanks a lot for this post. Went on ebay and saw a powdercoated black one so I bid on it. Now I have to get another chainring. LMAO.

Almost went with a Jen Green headbadge but decided to be fiscally responsible (yeah right) and go with a new set of decals. Garbaruk actually had a purple chainring but I thought that might be a little too over the top so I went with a set of purple Wolftooth bolts.

That's a great bicycle. Are you, or did you, put any clear protective tape on the frame anywhere?

I used some clear Goriila tape on my latest build underneath the downtube and behind the seat tube.

Those cranks you found are singular, unique, and just right for this bike.
