Two quick Q's in my preparation for a SS conversion

    Hey guys,

I think I'm ready to join the SS club. Just two quick questions:

    1) I have the integrated Alivio Brake/Shifter Level Combo. It looks like it can be "disasembled" to leave me with only a brake leaver. Am I correct? (See photos)

    2) I do have the vertical dropout, right? (Just asking since it's on a slight angle)

Thanks, I am sure these questions seem pretty trivial to you.

I would just leave the brake shifter combo on there. if you don't like SS then you won't have to find the parts and deal with any assembly. Just remove the Ders from you bike, detach the cables and pull them through your shifters. Plus i don't know if those can be "disasembled" like you want.

    yes vertical drop out.

Just to confirm that you can detach the shifter pod if you want to. You would only need to unscrew the allen screw evident in the center top, shown in your picture. The pod just comes off.

Eric does have a point of not losing track of the parts in the event you want to go back to geared. Depends on how organized you are.
