Trying to Decide Which Bike to Buy

I'm new to singlespeeding. In still ride my geared bike mostly (old and used from Craigslist). But in between rides I converted my old cruiser / comfort bike (first pic).

Up until a few days ago I thought I wanted the Motobecane Outcast 29er with front suspension.

Now I'm starting to want one a Civilian Luddite - A little more expensive, but probably better quality (a little over my budget too). No clue how rigid carbon forks feel compared to regular shocks on front.

Any suggestions? The Motobecane is not available in my size right now anyway, but I'm probably going to wait until around the end of the year when I get my Christmas bonus anyway.

Big Luddite thread in the 29er section looks like a great deal, would defintely pull that over the Moto.

Thanks. Will check out that thread.

Aluminum and shocks or steel and rigid carbon..... not too big of a difference in price.

Steel and rigid. The Luddite is my first SS and I love it. Plan on replacing the stock wheels and tires ASAP. Everything else on the bike is legit. I have mine down under 23 pounds with less than $1300 invested.
