    Town & Country

Here's the new build of my 1x1. It's intended as an all-rounder (which will be more evident when I get a cassette hub and proper tires). As it is, it's great as a townie and rips on local trails even with K-Rads. I got the bike more or less as it is on a trade (less the cool bars) and haven't looked back. It's my reintroduction to XC 7 years after pretty much giving it up.

The basic build concept is "no chi-chi parts, just stuff that works", and it's been just great. The cranks are a little heavy (RaceFace NS) but they don't flex a bit. Not the lightest, but a bike that can hold it's own with the best.

My lbs is in the process of building up my new 1x1 as I write this. They are building up the 1x1 hubs with EX721s today.

Seeing yours has made me even more excited to get out and hit the trails on one.

Do they ride as comfortable as they say?

When I pick mine up next week and take a break from riding it I'll post a picture.

    Nice build.

My 1x1 is super comfortable, although I don't have the stock fork! Out of the 3 bikes I have owned it is definitely the one that fits me best once I got it all dialed in.

Like those bars! How do they handle and who makes them?

They're called Mary bars made by On-One. You can buy them at pricepoint.com
