    Top tube damage

During today's ride i managed to turn my wheel to a 90 degree angle causing me to fall of into the small creek next to the trail. My bike (IRO model 19) fell hitting only the top tube on a big rock.
Is this damage going to cause me to fall flat on my face with the bike in two pieces? (it is a steel frame.)

That is what I planned on doing. I just didn't know if it had weakened the frame at all.

IROs have shitty paint. Get some black model paint and touch it up. You won't notice it. It's structurally fine.

That's far enough from a high-stress area that I think you'll be ok.

Had a ding in the center toptube of my el Mariachi, very small, smaller than a dime. Cracks began to form at the ends/creases and propagate outward. Not a whole lot of movement, but I stripped paint from the area and hit it with a thick primer to get a better idea of how quickly it was moving.
I kept an eye on it until the down tube broke 2/3rds around in diameter at the ht gusset...then I didn't have to worry about it anymore.

I replaced the front triangle with Verus and Verus ht tubing, larger diameter downtube, thicker butting profile all around, and it's better than the original.

Fuuuuuuudge - You'll be ok as well as the frame. Steel's better than butter, so you're ok.
