    Tires on the SS

On my rigid SS I have 1.95 tires (a kenda sport on the front and an unbranded on the rear). I was thinking to put a thicker one on the front. I have found a good deal on ebay on a continental Petrol Pro 2.5. I was thinking to put the kenda on the rear and the Conti on the front. What do you think of the combination? Do I need a different rim for a 2.5 tire? thanks.

I've had pretty big tyres on the humble Alexrims DM18: Conti Diesel and now Schwalbe Racing Ralph 2.4. It seems to work fine as long as I have some pressure in the tyre so that it does not get too wobbly.

Does your fork (and V brakes if you have them) have space for a big tyre?

Don't know how the traction between the Petrol and your old Kenda relate. You don't really want the front to slide before the rear does.
