    Which of these steel frames from nycbikes.com for my single speed-rigid bike

    I need help in deciding which steel frame to get for my budget singlespeed project.

    Also if anyone has any feedback from nycbikes.com please let me know.

    I would ...

    ... go for the black one, needs no pains = $$ to be spend on nice components. Next to that the black frame has a 'cleaner' look, something I like for a SS.

    thats what i was thinking too, i just wanted to see if maybe anyone else has that frame and would happen to know how much it weighed and had a general opinion on it.

    Those prices are the way bikes SHOULD be priced! Looks like good simple stuff. Probably made by child-slaves. Oh well.

    I have placed two orders with them and there service was very good.I bought there 19.00 aluminum road forks and ther 10.00 old school seat and there 19.00 track pedals and they were all excellent products.You vant even buy a used beat up seat for 10.00

    If you want to run disk brakes, the raw one has mounts for it.
    The black one doesn't.

    I'd go with the second one of the 2 because it's black and I don't use discs. have you thought about a Nashbar Steel frame? Cheaper right now ($44.95), if that's what you are looking for. Plus it comes with a free seatpost.

    Will you be using a tensioner? I don't see an EBB or track ends on these. Just something to think about..
