Tapped QR Axel to use CK-style bolts?

    Hey,

Has anyone tapped a standard QR axel (on an XT hub, for example) to take bolts like a chris king SS hub takes?

Just thought that it would be a nicer way to bolt on my rear hub rather than using a solid axel.

    I've tapped a front one

I tapped a front QR axle and haven't had any problems with it after several years of riding. There's a US size allen head bolt that fits perfectly, but now I have to carry an US allen wrench with me. I got the idea from Bullseyes which use the same axle for QR and bolt-on. Boy I wish I still had the rear hub for my singlespeed! I haven't done the rear though.

I've done this but used the heads from old skewers instead of the king bolts. Unfortunatley, I still had slippage in the dropouts. I'd like to try king bolts. Anybody have an extra set laying around?
