    Surly Cog question

Took off my cog to clean. i now see that it is a bit concave on the side with lettering and convex on the other side. Does it matter which way I replace on the freehub? It sits flush to freehub either way.

I'm thinking the shape is to allow for a few mm chainline adjustment but not sure.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Re: Surly Cog question

It is for chainline adjustment. Put it on whichever way lines the teeth up better.
Yeah I only carry cans cause I'm a weight weenie.
