    Surly 1x1chain.

Just finished installing a new chain on my 1x1. The chain is a SRAM PC890 and what is happening when I am pedaling the bike I notice the chain will become loose and the tight again this is odd. I am running a Surly Tugnut on the chain side but nothing on the other side. My chainline is straight so I am not sure what would cause this problem. Thoughts anyone?????

your chainring isnt set correctly on the spider. loosen your chainring bolts enough that the chainring has play and without the chain on, spin the cranks around and tap with a mallet the chainring where it bumps out. continue while slowely tightening your cr bolts untill its true.

    it happens all the time.
    easy fix.

I know its about fixed gear bikes but this should offer all answers to your questions. Scroll down to the chain tension section and follow the directions give.
Req. Disclaimer: I sell Giant, Trek, and Electra bikes.
