Sunny days and singletrack.. ride report with pics.

Yep, the sun came out, just like it was supposed to. I did my little happy dance and got ready to ride. I traded out my clothes for my riding gear, grabbed my sunglasses, my camera, helmet, gloves, Camelbak, you know, all that stuff that is within arms reach so one can leave at the drop of a hat.

I stopped at a friend's office on the way, but that was a short visit. The parking lot was virtually empty and after unlaoding the bike in the sunshine I decided that I wouldn't need the wind shell. Mmmmm.... Sunshine!

I went and rode the usual ride and took the usual pictures, how many different ways can you photograph a trail? Anyway, on with the pictures:

    Dude?

Good to see that you got out in it too. 'Twas a glorious interlude to my all-day slogs this wknd to find myself on Mary's/Horsethief/Rustlers before turning around and riding the long way back home...

But woman, fogawdsake, what are you doing on those teeny tiny wheels still? If you were stuck on suspension I might be able to forgive you, but riding rigid you owe it to yourself to try some big hoopty wheels. Lenore can't stop ranting about how great hers are every time she rides them. It'd take a mighty big hand to pimp slap the grin off of her face when she's riding the 29" SS (I know--I slap her a lot...). It's easily her favorite bike of all time.

One try and I can nearly guarantee you'll need to switch.

But then I've been telling you that for years... I still can't understand your reluctance to make the switch.

    Educate me?

Well... It all started when this guy, who shall remain nameless, hooked me up with these old wheels that were hear the end of their rope. He told me they would last forever, but the poor old bearings in the hubs just ground themselves up.... Wait, that's a different story...

T-Roy just gave me a new ss frame for Christmas. It's currently at Spectrum waiting for it's coat. No, it's not a 29'r frame, but I can't wait to ride it! My Edge HT fits me llike a glove, built around me, and my ss will be, too, how can I let that go?

    The usual ride is....

    Beautiful.

There's no way I'm going to make it till April without heading west. I've got some FFF miles to burn. Might as well shoot out there early for a stomp or two.

Thanks for posting up. It is great to see photos of Fruita.

    More Droool

Yep I'm still jealous. I rode the snomobile trail by my house out here in Il-Noise yesterday. There was about 6" of slush on the trail. Oh yea and it's flat!

Sorry if I sound like a pregnant dog...My glass is half full today.

When you do, make sure you watch it all the way to the end. I've got friends who loved the movie, but always left during the credits on each of the three times they saw the movie. They were forced to go see it a 4th time in order to catch the end.

I grew up in a small town, miles from anything. Embarassingly enough, there were too many similarities to my childhood in that movie.

    Ahhhhh... this brings back memories....

That's probably way too much info. I'm just too damn lazy to delete or edit it. I need to hire an editor.

Thanks. I'll be renting it soon. My town is so small that it never made into the theaters here.

No need to apologize, unless you intend to send ice cream or chocolate with that apology. I actually do want to rent the movie, it's on my short list.

    Good call....

My wife looked at my Lenz today after the descent and said...,"that thing is so cool looking...I think I want one..."

Mwahahaha....perhaps a Racer-X 29er in Ti for the little missus?
