Street or Trails?

I'm in the process of building my first ever SS and when it came time to put tires on it, I decided to go w/ more of a street tire for it. I imagine myself riding around town and hopping curbs w/ it just like when I was a kid on my BMX bike. I figure if I want to trail ride I still have my geared F/S and /or hardtail.

So I started to wonder if most people ride their SS on the street or the trails. So I figured I'd ask you guys. Street or Trails?

I do both. I have a tallish gear (36x16) since I live on the Canadian prairies and I can get away with it on most trails. I run Schwalbe Smart Sam tires which rip on the street and also work out in the sticks real good to boot.

Set it up for trail riding, you don't need street specific tyres just to jump a few curbs.

I have two fixed gear road bikes, skinny tires and all that, but my next bike is going to be a SS trail bike, so right now I selected road but if you asked me next spring it would be both. That's different bikes though, I don't like riding knobbies on the street.

I have four SS bikes; one fixed 29er Scorcher that is road / dirt road; cross bike fixed/FW that sees mostly road/fixed; SS 29er trail bike sees roads to get to the trails; 26' SS mtb used as a townie - will be sold now that I have the Scorcher. How could I check anything but "Both"?!?!

Both. 2 SS bikes.

One is a 1999 Cannondale F400 converted to SS and used for errands and running around town on the streets. 26" wheels

The other is a Soma Juice 29er for the trails.
