STOLEN BIKE REPORT - Surly in Mpls

It stinks to have to report the cowardly theft of my new Surly from right under my nose on Sunday. I was enjoying the Strongarm Marketing Spring Swap Meet in Minneapolis on Sunday afternoon. My swank new Surly was locked up not 30 feet from where I was all afternoon, watching and participating in the activities. (Here's some pics from One On One Studios' website). I have narrowed it down to a very short period of time in which a slimy individual decided to clip the cable and abscond with my ride. I am dealing with the loss by imagining the degree and method of beatdown the moron would have received had anyone noticed.

Sucks to the Nth degree but I have insurance and should be able to replace it. I hope the punk that did this gets hit by a bus. If yer in the area keep your eyes open - pic below (I had 2.4 Motoraptors on instead of the Panaracers shown). The key components for ID would be the gold King headset and painted grey Marzocchi with yellow decals.

    Thanks.

OH! harsh Randy! I know exactly what you're going through now. I had my Kona stolen after a rally. I still dearly miss that bike. I'll keep my eye out, and post this message on the MORC board for ya too. At least you had insurance, but still, you'll be out a sweet ride for a while...Hope you get it back, and that CARma hits the perp.
    Just a regular guy.

    Dang!

That really sucks man, and by the sound of it quite a balsy move to swipe your bike. I live in the uptown area and will definately keep my eyes open for your ride.

I should be out riding today as a matter of fact. What area was it taken from?

Hope ya get a replacement soon. Not sure if you're set on white but I know the Alternative has a black 18" sitting in their showroom that i've had my eye on.

    Good luck

    bleh! That blows.

Are there any locks that can't be clipped? I'm about to put together a new bike and I'm a little paranoid about leaving around school.

That sucks, sorry to hear that. The same thing happened to me in Chicago. Check your local newspaper and e-bay for your bike, you might get lucky.

That really sucks. I had an all tricked out Trek 8700 carbon stolen from right outside my door 5 years ago so i know what your going through.

I know use one of these:

A tad bit paranoid perhaps, but i still have my bike.
