This may have been asked before and if it has I am sorry.....

Are there any real benifits from having a one speed specific rear hub??

What do most of you here ride and why??

    Only two.
    1. Stronger because they are dishless (though most dished wheels are strong enough)
    2. They look cool

All of my singlespeeds have SS rear hubs.

Four. It is a form of commitment. On a SS wheel it is harder to run additional cogs. There are some ss cassette hubs where you can run 3-4 speeds, but I like thread on BMX hubs like Surly, Phil, and Pauls put on the gear of your choice and go. No overthinking euipment.

On the opposite side of the spectrum

I have a bunch of rear wheels sitting around and I see no reason not to convert these for SS duty... I have a few SS bikes and they all have recycled rear wheels... I have been thinking about building up an ENO wheel just as a project however...
