    They had balls of cast iron back then, unlike the massaged, pampered, fed by a top chef, sleep on a sleepnumber bed in an inflatable air chamber pros of today. Most cross country events have SS catagories, I'd love to see the same at road races, maybe even an exclusively fixie catagory. It seems the roadie end of the spectrum accepts changes at a glacial pace though, I doubt I'd live to see it. They're still using rim brakes for God's sake!

    Indeed, 1910 stage 10, the Peyresourde, the Aspin, the Tourmalet and the Aubisque! 326 km fixed gears, more trail than road and you had to finish with what you started with! "Vous etes des assassins!"
