SS setup / gearing / Chain type?

Hi just been setting up my Chameleon for SS - new to SS (but have several FS...)
I've set it up with a (not ridden yet) :
    Hone 32 chainring
    16T steel rear cog
Hope Bulb hub with some spacers etc.
    Chain Shimano CN-7701 9 speed..

I've been reading some posts on this SS forum... should I ditch the 7701 in favour of a KMC chain (any recommendations?) If I use a KMC is it easy to shorten or lengthen the chain....( I have the Park chain breaker tool.)
Also I live in Hong Kong and its quite mountainous here, I worry the 32 / 16 combo may be too hard to pedal up.... even though I wont use this bike for any serious climbing...
Are the Aluminium cogs say 22T up to the task?

    Cheers
    Thanks in advance

Mate, ride the two to one ratio and see how you feel. You will get stronger after a bit. As for the chain, unless you've got a geared bike you can better use an expensive chain like that on, use it. It ain't gonna break if its new.

just make sure the cog is not too wide for a 9 speed chain... otherwise as philbot said.. ride a bit and see if the gearing is ok..if not get a couple cogs and start playing with it...
