    SS/fixed to geared?

once i have a SS/fixed-geared bike, 700 or 29er, can I add rear derrailleur later, if i feel the need later (for cross races)?

also, would Stans No-Tube "gunk" work in 700 cross rims (narrower than phat mtb tires) in the rear tires??

Since I've switched to UST tubeless (no Stans) I've had dramatically far less flats on my rear tire, on my hardtail (I ride my hardtail "hard" as evidence by the toll i've taken on wheelrims & seat posts). so when i take my crosser down mild rock gardens, i'd like to not toast my 700 rims (29er mtb tire would not pose a problem) i'd rather bouce a lot than fix a flat.

best scenero is getting a ss 29er...but I've got me a budet to stay under

eventually i'll replace my main ride hardtail with a Ventana El Capitan 29er fs....but don't tell my beloved Lavadome that!

Yup - if the frame has a derailleur hanger.

I'd guess you could get a Saint hub/derailleur if the frame was hangerless.

    What frame?
