    ss bb setup ?'s

Can I use a 73 mm shimano bb on a 68 mm shell if I just add a 5 mm spacer to the fixed cup side? I am trying to set up my beater ss and I have the bb off my fuel that I am selling. Is this going to throw my chainline way off? thanks for the help

I believe so. got the 5mm spacer that came with the BB? most newer cartridge bb's come this way, at lease that I've seen.

    I did this for awhile

One 2.5 mm spacer on the drive side will put the spindle in the same place that a 68mm BB would (assuming the spindle length is the same. A spacer was not needed on the non-drive side.

    no spacer

The bb didn't come with the spacer, so what can I use? Is a cassette spacer the right diameter?
