I have a '92 Rascal which has the same issue (thus why I am going to sell it). Things I have found...

Try the Kona P2 fork ($80) or a Bomber if you want suspension (last years or the year before should have still been made with 1" steerers).
I still have my original 1" stem (control tech I think) so I can't help you there.

    Good luck,
    Geoff

I love my bike with a 1" headset, so I had a custom (Groovycycleworks) ho-down fork made and found a classic Salsa chromoly stem that was 100mm. I run Mary bars with this combo.

If you are hunting a rigid fork, though, there are lots to choose from. I think Voodoo has some stock ones available as well as Salsa.

I have two SS, one a little higher geared with suspension (1 1/8" steerer), and my rigid... 'cause, well... "...sometimes y'feel like a nut...." right?

This is how it was.. I was using a 1" BOI Fat City segmented fork, but the steerer wasn't long enough. I'm waiting on a new fork from Rody @ groovycycleworks to get the Mary's up a bit higher.... and will post again once complete.
