    sprocket question

alright i have a question for the ss gurus. can i mount a 22t front chainring to a ss hub? i have an extra granny gear (4bolt pattern) lying around and i was wondering if it would fit on my ss hub (specialized p.1).
another question- will any rear sprocket off a old cassette work as a ss sprocket? are ss sprockets a diff. thickness?

You can use a granny cog adapter (GCA) to adapt a granny ring for splined freehub use. Spicer makes 'em.

I wouldn't use a ramped sprocket off an old cassette on my SS. Those ramped cogs are designed to do exactly what you don't want them to, namely shift.

Dedicated SS sprockets can be, but don't have to be, slightly thicker than geared sprockets.
