Spring SoCal SS Summit- Schedule of events

    Alright ramblers! Let's get ramblin'!
    Tentative schedule so far:
Fri. p.m.- some folks'll show up, set up camp, prolly burn some cordwood.
Sat. 9:15a.m- TD will lead out a Noble Canyon run, down Noble, then back up Indian Creek. Wheels down at the Noble Canyon trailhead at 9:15! If anyone's interested in shuttling, we'll take any volunteers to drive.
6:00p.m.- I'll be leading a BLT evening/night stroll, if you're interested, bring lights!
7:00 (or earlier) 'til whenever- Partake of the booty, carouse, enjoy the company of a bunch of bike geeks who waste too much time on computers.
Sun. 9:00a.m. Noslogan and I will try and rouse the ne'erdowells from their hangovers for the big shindig ride on BLT. We'll be shooting for a 3+ hour ride with opportunities for bailout at various points. Great time for everyone to just hang out, bring the loved ones. No one will be left behind. Prolly break this one up into 2-3 groups, depending on ability/desire to ride longer.
Sun. 9:00a.m. Noble Canyon run, leader TBD

If folks wish to do their own rides, or organize groups, please feel free. Just respect the trail and other users, and look out for one another. Maybe we'll assign buddies. Like 4th grade field trips

Please remember that we're an informal, semi-organized group. Leave your egos at the door, and let's not ditch anyone out there. Bring food, tools, tubes, etc.
I'll have my work stand and some tools out there, but remember that I'm now a retired bike mechanic!

Am I forgetting anything? This should be a lot of fun!

    We'll be there Friday

We plan to leave the OC (Norte) at noonish so we should be there by late afternoon Friday. We will bail out by about 9:00 or so Sunday. I will have my truck with 5 bike or more capacity if anyone not quite as fit and/or masochistic wants or needs to shuttle. I can't ride except around camp a bit, so being shuttle driver may keep me out of trouble. My new Mia will be available if anyone wants to test ride it for me.

I'm camping in the Shady loop #29 which is the next loop over. It looks like we are two guys and one vehicle in a site which can have 8 people and 2 vehicles. Anyone who is arriving without reservations can join us and share the site, as long as you know how to act around kids . I need to keep my own site a safe haven in case things over at the main group get too wild for my 4 1/2 year old son to be around . PM me if anyone wants to speak for that space ahead of time.

    Directions

Mile marker 27ish is the trailhead. Camping is JUST past the Shriner's lodge on Sunrise.

From Temecula and beyond. 15 south to 8 east to Sunrise hiway north. OR, 15 south to 76 south to 79/78 combo thru Julian to Sunrise Hiway south. You can hit a good clip with the first option. Second option is two lane, windy and prolly 55ish.
Use this...http://maps.google.com/ Type San diego and drag the screen around.

    So I'm gonna try a

little experiment on Saturday. I was going to put back on my 18T freewheel for the Noble ride on Saturday, but then I realized it would be a royal PITA to take a off the 20T Dicta freewheel that I put on right before the 24hr Temecula race a couple of weeks ago. So I said screw it, the 20T will make life a little easier on the climb back up later in the day. Then I set about to get that freakin rigid fork off the front (another leftover from the race). So the fork is off and I'm about to put my 3" Manitou mars back on when I spy my 5" travel Manitou Black hanging up in the rafters. The thing has been collecting a bunch of dust as of late, so I said WTF once again and slapped in on the SS. I'm sure it will not be the zipppy handling bike as before but what the heck, it will make for an "interesting" ride. Here is the the Redline Monocog 5.

Please note that this ride is starting at the upper Noble Canyon trailhead on Sunrise Highway. We will meet around the small circular parking lot at the trailhead.

I'll be on a white steel Seven Sola.
