    Singlespeeders in Austin, TX

    Hi y'all,

We'll be passing through town on our Trek Fit for Women Demo tour this weekend and are looking for where the singlespeeders hang out for nightlife.

Don't let the fact that I work for Trek fool you, I have a singlespeed and a fixie that I prefer to ride, and I was part of Heckler's Corner at SSWC in Berlin last year.

We hit 6th street tonight, but it wasn't really our scene. Too many plastic people. Help?

    More ears than gears.
-Would you like a mechanic chick to look at that for you?

as far as i know, we dont have a big enough fixed gear / SS crowd to have a designated or associated bar...

but those "type of people" (sounds...uh..demeaning?) can be found at Casino El Camino and the Ritz on 6th street. there is also Showdown Saloon and the Hole on the Wall on Guadalupe St near 29th... lots of bikers at Mojo coffee a few blocks north of those 2 bars
living on earth is expensive, but it includes a free trip around the sun -bill woods

If you ride a fix and an SS, doesn't that mean you have the same number of ears and gears?
When the going gets weird its bedtime.

Brant, since I don't have the luxury of hanging out with you right now, I have to do what I can!

I can interpret "hope you're good" in many ways.

    Woog, are you stalking me?

Nah, I'm stalking you. Sorry. I do do dat do don't i?

"Hope you're good" means, I hope you're happy, sorted, settled, having fun.
"Hope you're being good" is something quite different, but I'm sure you are, and it's non of my bloody business if you aren't.

PS: Calderdale trails are awesome. Not been out that way lately, but it's so dry here, I bet there's not even the boggy bit by the wall on London Road. Trails are best I've seen for ages, and I've been riding out over Watergrove a lot, getting myself a bit more sorted for SSMM. Sure it'll have all gone wrong by the time you get back :-)

PPS: As you might know, I've said that "women don't ride bikes, wives and girlfriends do". But I'm still quite shocked there's a vacuum cleaner manufacturer sponsoring your tour!

Don't get boiled or fried. And think of me in a fortnight, cos I'm soloing, inspite of everything that's happened in the last month.
