... and if we just ... Singlespeed my ride for 100

    Hi guys,

While my Coiler is waiting on a fork repair I dusted off my Schwinn Moab.

Stood in its Park stand I gazed at all the rusted cables and deraillers which never have shifted that great.

I started to quite like the idea of stripping all this off and building a superlight XC singlespeed

(after reading a previous post, I rode my Coiler for a day in one gear which was a great workout and great fun - but as was mentioned I would never experience the joy of a true singlespeed until I got rid of all gears)

    I have 100 / 193.52 U.S. dollar

    I'm planning to upgrade

rear cog (has an 8 speed shimano at the mo)
    front chainring (3 chainring shimano)
fork - rockshox judy (keep or go rigid?)
    handlebars (go straight?)

    Some pics of the bike

This is what I have added to my wishlist up to now

Very open to suggestions, advice and what you would do to this bike with 100

check also misfit psycles out (they are in Canada and you in the UK, I know ) I just order one of their conversion kits and it is awesome... I used a Gusset kit (like the ones on CRC) and the spacers on the one from misfit are much nicer... they specialize in SS and the shipping was pretty cheap ($12 to Germany) and I received the things in a week and paid no duty.

I also ordered a 34T chainring from them
